The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

Then close your eyes and tap your heels together three times...

Melbourne City Ballet will recreate the cherished story of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz for audiences across Australia in 2019. The dancers will click their heels together and get a little bit wicked as they follow the classic tale of Dorothy Gale, a young country girl who is swept away to the magical world of Oz.

Full of enchanting characters, some friendly and some truly wicked! The Wonderful Wizard of Oz will be imaginatively brought to life in this brand new production for Melbourne City Ballet. With stunning new sets and costumes and the company’s largest ensemble to date, this brand new ballet proves there is no place like home, and will be and enchanting event suitable for the whole family.

Would you like to be a part of Melbourne City Ballet's upcoming production of THE WONDERFUL WIZARD OF OZ?

Melbourne City Ballet will provide opportunities for young dancers seeking to experience being a part of a live ballet production.

In 2018, young dancers across the country will have the opportunity to register to be a part of the magic of this wonderful production, representing their communities onstage with the company.

There are various roles that need to be filled for this production. Melbourne City Ballet will be predominately looking for dancers, both boys and girls, aged between 8 and 18 years old.  Basic ballet skills and knowledge are required.

Dancers will learn the choreography within the workshop. Those who are successful will be notified at the end of the workshop and will be given more detailed information about the show.
